Invite Someone!

Stepping Up for Jesus

Got friends? Of course, you do! Got acquaintances? Yep. Bet you have those, too. What about nearly strangers? You know, the cashier that you always seem to get every time you shop at Meijer or the dad you always stand next to when waiting for your son to finish practice.

Did you realize that those people being in your life isn’t accidental? Crazy as it sounds, you’re bumping into these people over and over again for a reason. And, it’s a pretty safe bet that the reason is God wants you to talk to them about Him. Why is that a safe bet? Because nearly 80% of the people around you don’t have a church that they regularly attend. That means 8 out of the 10 people you thought of at the beginning of this article need you to talk to them about God, about Grace Church.

Today, I want to encourage you to invite those people to church. Need some reassurance? They actually are very open to talking to you about church. Don’t believe me? Read Five Surprising Insights about the Unchurched. You know what’s even better? Christmas Eve is the perfect time to invite people! They’re even more likely to say yes. (Five Reasons a Christmas Eve Service Reaches the Unchurched)

So, go on! Send them that invite on Facebook. We even created events for you: Grace Church Bay City - Events | Facebook. Then, follow up with a face-to-face invite using the insert in the bulletin on Sunday.

Stepping up with you in His strength!

At Grace, one of my responsibilities is to publish a weekly article in our e-newsletter, GraceNotes, about discipleship. Specifically, about the various components of our Discipleship Pathway and how a person could journey along it. This is my most recent article.
