Spotlight Group - Tuesday Morning Bible Study

Pathway Points

Stepping Up for Jesus

Once per month, I like to spotlight one of the various GraceGroups that we have at Grace. This month, I want to introduce you to the ladies of the Tuesday Morning Bible Study, one of our longest running groups, and let them tell you how they work to take the next steps on the Discipleship Pathway together.

Name: Tuesday Morning Bible Study

Meeting Time: Tuesdays, 9:30am

Location: Grace West, Room A

How do you help each other love God more? We’ve done quite a few studies over the years. Some of our favorites have been No More Faking Fine: Ending the Pretending, The Red Tent, The Call: The Life and Message of the Apostle Paul, and Half Truths: God Helps Those Who Help Themselves and Other Things the Bible Doesn't Say. Through all of these, we really try to focus on the Bible, what it says, and how it applies to our lives. Over and over, we encourage one another to think for ourselves through our discussions.

How do you serve all, specifically one another? For us, there are two ways that we serve each other. First is through prayer. We share prayer requests, both joys and concerns, when we gather, and then we pray for each person throughout the week. Second, is our fellowship time. We regularly get together outside of the Tuesday morning study to hangout and enjoy each other’s company. Through all of this we’ve learned that everyone has problems, and it’s okay. We’ve also learned how to trust God through learning to trust each other.

How do you change lives, especially in the community? We’ve championed several projects over the years. Our most consistent ones have been One-Week-One-Street, providing a meal for the volunteers at the Helen M Nickless Clinic, and volunteering at the various family gatherings hosted by Grace. We’ve found that all of the studies that we’ve done have provided fantastic background for us as we teach GraceKids on Sunday mornings.

Thanks for letting me visit, Ladies! I’ve got to say, I’ve very proud of all of you. It’s been so much fun watching you share your faith with the kids in the community through Freaky Friday and at the Easter Egg Hunt with the Resurrection Eggs.

Stepping up with you in His strength!

At Grace, one of my responsibilities is to publish a weekly article in our e-newsletter, GraceNotes, about discipleship. Specifically, about the various components of our Discipleship Pathway and how a person could journey along it. This is my most recent article.
