15 Minute Bible Study

Pathway Points

Stepping Up for Jesus

And…it’s the Holidays! Stressed yet? It always seems that once we get to Thanksgiving that it’s a fast trip to Christmas and New Year’s. It’s also seems that, in the rush, time for Bible study gets shorter and shorter. If that’s sounds like you, don’t give up! I recently got an email from flourishgathering.com with a suggested technique for going deep in just 15 minutes that I want to share with you.

1.     Read your favorite devotional—There’s “Our Daily Bread” available at each campus and there will be Advent devotionals available at each of the Welcome Centers starting on December 3rd.

2.     Open your Bible and read the entire chapter for context—Most devotionals offer a short passage, sometimes only a verse, printed with the daily devotion. Take a moment to dig a little deeper by opening your Bible and reading the entire chapter.

3.     Journal—This can be as simple or as complex as you have time for that day. You can write out a key verse, a short phrase to remind you of what you read, or a question or two that you thought of while reading.

4.     Pray—End your time in prayer. Offer God praise and thanksgiving, confess, and pray for yourself and others. Finally, take a moment to listen.

Stepping up with you in His strength!
