Stepping Up for Jesus

The Women’s Retreat was a success! If you missed it, there were 30 ladies that came together at Grace Church’s “Sweet Life Café” this past Saturday. We started in worship, lead by Susan Caister. Then, moved out to the Grace Café for food, fun, fellowship, and more food! I led a skit about Elijah and the widow (1 Kings 17v8-16) with 4 very brave ladies volunteering to help. There was plenty of time for discussion, along with a few games. Jodi Coppess led a time of prayer and reflection and Marty Doring helped us to create a sweet pancake mix to give as gift to a friend we wanted to share the “Sweet Life” with. We closed with more time for worship and an invitation that we’d like to extend to all of the ladies of the congregation to join us in a follow-up small group called Friend Me! Watch for the GraceLink sign-ups starting in April.

I’d like to extend a big thank you to Sara Brandt for all her help pulling the weekend together. She made Pinterest worthy centerpieces and a yummy coffee bar. I’d also like to thank The Men of Grace for serving us a fabulous lunch (and for standing around waiting for me to finish my session to do it). Lastly, I’d like to thank you the congregation (especially the gentlemen that specifically donated money to scholarship some of the ladies) for underwriting the cost of this event.

Stepping up with you in His strength!

At Grace, one of my responsibilities is to publish a weekly article in our e-newsletter, GraceNotes, about discipleship. Specifically, about the various components of our Discipleship Pathway and how a person could journey along it. This is my most recent article.
